There are a number of ways a Shakermaker Promotions 'At The Races' can work. If you run a Pub, Social Club, Charity or Organisation, a Race Night is an excellent way of raising money for a chosen charity or to raise funds for your organisation and is also great for entertaining your members or guests too. It is also a great extra service for your wedding and an ideal way of keeping your guests entertained throughout the day before the evening entertainment commences.

'At the Races' brings the thrill and excitement of the race course to you!! Each 'At the Races' package consists of 8 Digital Races which are projected on to the BIG SCREEN in crystal clear quality. Races are chosen at random and are a mixture of Flat, Hurdles & Chases. Each race contains 8 runners and each race is chosen at random by a member of the audience so nobody ever knows the result in advance, not even the compere! Each 'At the Races' package also includes a full sound system so that the commentary can be heard clearly but it is also great for backgroud music between races.

Here's how a Shakermaker Promotions 'At the Races' works:

For your Pub, Social Club, Charity or Organisation

'At the Races' is a great way of raising funds for your chosen charity or organisation. The success of the function is down to the preparation and work beforehand. We will send you all of the information you need to organise the function and we can also meet with you to explain how things work. We charge a set fee for all of our 'At the Races' packages. The incentive is with you to encourage members and guests to sponsor races and becoming owners for the event.

Each 'At the Races' package contains 8 Races - Each Race can be sponsored in advance. For example: £10.00 per Race Sponsorship = £80.00

Each Race contains 8 Runners - Each Runner can be sold for ownership in advance. For example: £2.00 per Ownership = £128.00

**The Sponsors and Owners of each race can be printed in the Race Night Programme and also mentioned on the night.

Each winning owner also wins a prize which is donated by the organiser.

The TOTE is the place where the bets are taken and this is run by the compere. We advise that horses are priced at £1.00 each. The payout on bets can be agreed in advance between Shakermaker Promotions and the organiser. The most popular payout on bets in our experience is 50%. This means that if the total amount staked on the first race is £100.00, the payout on winning bets would be £50.00.

A breakdown example is something like this: Based on a small Race Night.

RACE 1 - Horse 1 - 10 x Tickets sold = £10.00 / Horse 2 - 8 x Tickets sold = £8.00 / Horse 3 - 7 x Tickets sold = £7.00 / Horse 4 - 15 x Tickets sold = £15.00

Horse 5 - 8 x Tickets sold = £8.00 / Horse 6 - 6 x Tickets sold = £6.00 / Horse 7 - 12 x Tickets sold = £12.00 / Horse 8 - 9 x Tickets sold = £9.00

TOTAL Taken on Race 1 = £75.00. 50% Payout agreed in advance = £37.50 to organisation and £37.50 split for winning bets.

Example: RACE 1 - Winning Horse is Horse 5 (8 x Winning Tickets = £4.68 per winning ticket).

**If the same amount was taken on 8 Races, this would mean that £300.00 would go to the organisation. If all of the races were sponsored in advance and all of the horses were owned too, this would mean that the total for the organisation would be £508.00 !!!!**

A great idea is to have a 9th Race which is an auction race. The idea is to get members and guests to bid against eachother so that the highest bid wins the ownership of the horse. The Compere and the organiser will agree as to the payout percentage on the auction race. In our experience, 75% is the most popular.

A breakdown example is something like this: Based on a small Race Night.

RACE 9 - Horse 1 - Highest Bid = £25.00 / Horse 2 - Highest Bid = £35.00 / Horse 3 - Highest Bid = £40.00 / Horse 4 - Highest Bid = £30.00

Horse 5 - Highest Bid = £60.00 / Horse 6 - Highest Bid = £50.00 / Horse 7 - Highest Bid = £35.00 / Horse 8 - Highest Bid = £80.00

TOTAL Taken on Race 9 = £355.00. 75% Payout agreed in advance = £92.75 to organisation and £266.25 to winning owner.

This would mean that the overall amount to the organisation for the event would be £600.75.

**Please note that this is based on a small Race Night with all of the races being sponsored and all horses owned in advance**

'At the Races' as an extra for your wedding or special event

A Shakermaker Promotions 'At the Races' package is a great way of entertaining your guests before the evening entertainment begins.

If you have read the above then you will have a good idea as to how 'At the Races' works - The difference is, there is no money involved!! We will supply each guest with FUN MONEY to bet on the races. We can do this when the event begins or we can send you the money in advance for your wedding favours.

The idea is that the person with the most money at the end of the 8 races wins a prize. Shakermaker Promotions will supply a bottle of Champagne for the winner which is included in the price. A Shakermaker Promotions 'At the Races' package can be discounted when booked alongside the Disco Entertainment or it can be booked alone.
