Tubeway Army albums
Tubeway Army the first album released in November 1978 on Beggars Banquet Records : Catalogue Number BEGA4
The first 5000 copies of this album came with a different cover and were issued on blue vinyl. Some copies had a free limited edition badge with them. Very collectable !
Replicas Released in April 1979 on Beggars Banquet Records : Catalogue Number BEGA7. Early versions of this included a free poster
The Plan Released in October 1984 on Beggars Banquet Records : Catalogue Number BEGA55. Also released on an awesome Picture Disc too
Live Bootleg LP on vinyl recorded by a fan and now very collectable. Although it says 'Live at The Roxy' it was actually recorded from various Tubeway Army gigs in the late 70's.
'This is my life' - Another Bootleg on 7" vinyl. This surfaced many years after it was recorded and was obviously put out to make money. Very limited and worth a lot of money.
Yet another bootleg on 7" vinyl and once again released to make someone out there a bit of money. Quite easy to find.
Replicas in-store poster (Thanks to Paul Baines) and Tubeway Army Replicas press photo and press release
tubeway patrol
Tubeway Army underwent a line up change in 1979 with a couple of the members going off to do their own thing. Sean Burke (Guitar) and Barry Benn (Drums) decided to leave and started their own band which they named 'The Station Boys'. This didn't last long and they renamed themselves 'Tubeway Patrol'. They went into the studio in Surrey in 1980 and recorded their first single 'Do Eyes ever meet?'.
Tubeway Patrol were a far cry from Tubeway Army. Sean wanted to stay in the band but wanted to play the more punkier style tracks along with Barry whilst Gary and Paul saw that there was potential in the use of electronics. This eventually lead to the split.
